As a proud Nova Scotian, it's only right that I do my part to
spread the word about our beautiful province and it's addictive qualities.
It seems that everyone who visits here longs to return, and
many do on a regular basis. For some, the pull is so strong
that they pick up roots, and move here to adopt our salt air,
unspoiled environment, great food and Maritime hospitality
as their way of life.
Can't say that I blame them. There's never been any other place
I would want to live. Even though I like to travel, the same
old adage applies... "There's no place like home!"
This page will feature some of the best places to stay and eat
in the local area, and a variety of things to do during your
stay. I feel obligated to warn you, though, after a couple
of weeks immersed in our culture... you'll be hooked forever!

There are many historical properties, heritage sites and Inns
to visit while you're here. Check out our Local
Sites page for a virtual tour of the best places to visit in the area.
To give you a quick tour around the area... here are a few pictures,

For some information that's very local, visit the official webite of beautiful Annapolis Royal. |
And of course, the website for Digby,
Nova Scotia, home of the world's best scallops... yum!
If you're looking for complete solitude, and a real get away from the
rat race, then "Mersey
River Chalets" is definitely your choice of vacation spots.
Tim and Andrea will make you feel totally at home in any of their
chalets or "teepees". That's right, teepees. The whole
site is completely wheelchair accesable, too. It doesn't get any better than this!
Do you like finding hidden treasure? Located in the warmest climate in the Annapolis Valley, Bear
River Vineyards have been producing the "Nectar of the Gods" for several years now. It is finally poised to take the
market by storm! I can hardly wait... congratulations Chris!
